Former Guilford High student, now NASA engineer, Valerie Scott Kristoff will be on hand on to present various aspects of the NASA/Mars exploration program.
Valerie gave a talk to Apple Pi in November of 2011 just prior to the blast off of Curiosity, our present Mars Rover. Since landing on Mars in August of 2012 Curiosity has been hard at work collecting information and data from the Red Planet. Valerie will talk with us about Curiosity’s landing, it’s discoveries, future Mars missions as well as some of the interesting developments she has been a part of at JPL-NASA.
This is a great opportunity for all those seriously interested in science and technology to get a look behind the scenes at arguably the most significant science based organization in this country. Parents are invited to attend also.
