Apple Pi Victorious at Where Is Wolcott Invitational

Apple Pi’s Alliance of team 195 (the Cyber Knights) and team 3182 (Athena’s Warriors) took top honors at the “Where is Wolcott Invititational” on June 9th. This alliance was undefeated through the double elimination playoffs beating the alliance headed up by New Haven’s Robo Squad team 558 in the finals. The Robo Squad had previously won 3 straight WIWI championships. The Apple Pi victory comes after wins at the WPI Regional in March and a runner-up finish at the Connecticut Regional in April.

This was not the first time team 2067 and team 195 had worked together. Apple Pi and the Cyber Knights had formed an alliance nearly 8 months ago on October 1st, 2011 that went on to a top finish at the “Bash at the Beach” pre-season tournament in Lyme, CT.

The “Where is Wolcott Invitational” after season tournament provided Apple Pi the opportunity to get real competition training for prospective drivers, operators and coaches for the 2013 season.
